Mitchell A. Greebel

Partner — matrimonial & family law since 1984

For four decades, Mitchell A. Greebel has guided Long Island families through divorce, custody, and the moments that reshape a life — with straight answers, direct access, and a preference for resolving matters sensibly over litigating them expensively.

Counsel for the moments that reshape a life.

Mitchell A. Greebel has practiced law since 1984, and matrimonial and family law has been the heart of that practice for as long as the firm has had its name on the door. In 1988 he co-founded Greebel & Greebel with his father, Lawrence, at 170 Old Country Road in Mineola — directly across the street from the Nassau County courthouses where his cases are heard.

His practice spans divorce and separation, child custody and support, and the agreements that hold families steady through change, alongside commercial litigation and real estate matters for Long Island businesses and homeowners. But ask his clients what stands out and the answers repeat: he picks up the phone, he explains things plainly, and he treats a settlement reached sensibly as a better outcome than a fight won expensively.

How he works

Every matter starts with a conversation — a free, confidential consultation where you describe what's happening and leave knowing where you stand. From there, you work with Mitchell directly: the attorney you meet on day one is the attorney who handles your matter through resolution. Court is a tool, not a destination; most of his matters resolve by agreement, and when litigation is necessary, it's conducted by counsel who appears in the courthouses across the street every week.
